Barn Croft Primary School

Learning

At Barn Croft Primary, we are committed to providing an ambitious and inclusive curriculum that ignites a love of learning in every child. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to ensure breadth, depth, and clear progression, preparing pupils for the next stage of their educational journey and beyond.

We believe in developing the whole child—intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our curriculum fosters resilience, empathy, and respect, encouraging pupils to become thoughtful, responsible members of both their local and global communities.

From the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Year 6, our curriculum is structured around key questions that open up enquiry and discussion. Lessons are designed to be engaging, purposeful, and adaptable to meet the needs of all learners. We place a strong emphasis on reading, vocabulary development, oracy, and problem-solving, supporting children to think critically, collaborate effectively, and develop the independence and confidence they need to thrive.

Our outcomes are a testament to the effectiveness of our approach. Pupils leave Barn Croft as confident, articulate, and compassionate individuals, equipped with the academic knowledge and personal skills needed to succeed in the next stages of their education.
