The governing body of Barn Croft Primary is required to fulfil following three key roles:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and the strategic direction of the school;
- Hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;
- Oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent.
The day-to-day management of the school remains the responsibility of the Headteacher and senior leadership team.
The full governing body meets 6 times a year, in addition Finance and Curriculum sub committees meet regularly throughout the year.
The membership comprises of:
- 2 elected parent governors
- 6 co-opted governors
- 1 LA appointed governor
- 1 staff elected governor
- Headteacher
The governing body may also appoint (non voting) Associate governors to assist in the work.
